Why see Dear Evan Hansen?

You Will Be Found

After much speculation, the Broadway smash hit musical is finally taking to the road in this brand new production from Ambassador Theatre Group and the Nottingham Playhouse. Telling the story of troubled teen Evan, the show dives into the themes of misunderstood youth and the ever-growing impact of technology on our lives. The original version of this Tony-winning musical was a massive hit in the West End, earning a staggering seven Olivier nominations including Best New Musical!

Featuring a book by Steven Leverson and music and lyrics from Justin Paul and Benji Pasek (La La Land) that includes modern theatrical classics such as "Waving Through a Window" and "You Will Be Found" discover the powerful musical in this exciting new production when it sets off across the country from the autumn of 2024!

What Is The Story?

The Evan of our story is a high school misfit who is desperate for any form of recognition from his peers. When a fellow student's suicide rocks the community, Evan is thrust into its centre, finally getting what he's always wanted: a chance to fit in.

Smart, contemporary and timely, it is a touching and socially conscious exploration of the tumult of adolescence, and what just what we're willing to sacrifice to find our own place in the overwhelming noise of the modern world.

If you want a good cry then this is the production for you.

Strong cast. Beautiful songs and singers. Sam Tutty did a great job of portraying an insecure, anxiety riddled boy. Rebecca Mckinnis also made my cry with her emotionally lead performance. Luckily I don’t suffer from anxiety but it would be interesting to see how some of my friends would connect with this show 🤔 ... Read more
